‘Halo: Flashpoint’ – Mantic’s Update On Tariff Pricing

Mantic Games has an update on how the Trump Tariffs are impacting their Halo: Flashpoint pricing. Get your pre-orders in now!
The tumultuous times with the Trump Tariffs are still making waves in the tabletop industry. While we’ve (apparently) gotten a bit of a reprieve with goods coming from China due to the 90-day pause, there are still a lot of other countries that are getting hit with the 10% tariff. Mantic Games, based in the UK, is one company that’s feeling the squeeze.
Again, a tariff is defined as a tax or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports. The Trump Tariffs are hitting the economy as a whole and tabletop industry is particularly vulnerable due to the nature of the products produced.
Mantic Games Tackles The Tariffs
Mantic Games has issued a statement regarding upcoming pricing changes. The company is looking at a slight pricing increase for the majority of its non-Halo: Flashpoint products.
Because the US retail partners have to pay the import tariffs (because that’s how tariffs work), Mantic is also having to adjust its US pricing to not undercut these stores, too. They are saying that it’s going to be close to 5% and “rounded to the nearest sensible amount” as well. However, that’s not the case for Halo: Flashpoint. That’s because it’s being manufactured in China.
Halo: Flashpoint Pricing Adjustments Coming
The “good” news is that Mantic Games does have a plan. They do have some stock already in the US. And they are willing to eat some of that cost in the short term. But that’s not going to be the case forever.
This is a big move on Mantic’s part to cover the tariffs — for now. But there will be a price change that takes place starting on June 1st, 2025 to cover these tariff charges.
Pre-Orders and The Future
Mantic Games has already made some big steps in eating a lot of the cost here. If you’ve already placed a Pre-order for Wave 3/Rise of the Banished they are going to honor that pre-order price (once again, eating that costs so you don’t have to).
These “old” prices are only going to stick around if you get your orders in before June 1, 2025. After that, the price is going up to compensate for the tariff charge.
Mantic Games is one of the few tabletop industry companies that are positioned to do this. That’s because they have other lines of business that are produced (“or sufficiently assembled/transformed/finished”) in the UK/Europe. And as we’re seeing, these tariff prices are going to be passed on to the consumer. But at least Mantic has a plan and is being up front about how these tariffs are impacting their products and prices. We’re getting a heads-up/grace period so we can also make plans. It’s amazing what a little bit of forethought and planning can do.
If you want to get any Halo: Flashpoint pre-orders before the Trump Tariff pricing hits you can find them all here. Again, you have until June 1, 2025 to get those pre-order in!
Mantic is soaking up the hit to its business for the month of May, but it won’t last forever.
