The Rebel Commandos are ready to tackle the toughest missions on the tabletop in Star Wars: Legion. Time to unbox them!

If you’ve got a job you need done and it requires a bit of subterfuge then the Rebel Commandos are ready to be called in. Atomic Mass Games set us a preview copy and I’m getting to unbox them. So what are they packing for the mission ahead? Let’s get in there and find out.

This is the new style Atomic Mass Games box for Star Wars: Legion.

Rebel Commando Unboxing

Busting into the box we have the standard packaging from AMG. The sprues are in one baggy while the cards and bases are in another. These sprues are also newly redesigned and stack-up as the newer AMG hard plastics do. This should help your sprues stay safe in transport and the bits should remain on the sprues.

As far as the sprues themselves you get two different ones in the box. There are various legs, torsos, and heads as you can see above. Again, these are redesigned hard plastics so the details are crisp. As far as assembly goes, you can mix and match the various heads.

The bodies of the miniatures are not interchangeable without using more advanced hobby techniques. That said, all the bodies are labeled by letter and then by number. So it’s pretty easy to figure out which bits go together.

As far as the cards for the unit you can see those above. I‘ve also covered their rules in more detail (and with better pictures). Above I did use one of the other language cards to show off the card artwork for the unit card. The box comes with a full set of these cards for the four supported languages as we’ve come to expect from AMG products.

I will also say there are a lot of non-human heads in the box. I counted four optional Twi’lek head options in the box. So you can’t go full Twi’lek commando here. However, if you get a few of these boxes then you totally could mix them and create and entire unit of Twi’leks.

If you want to recruit your own set of Rebel Commandos you’re in luck! These miniatures are out now and in stores.

Taking the fight to the Galactic Empire and striking with precision, the SWQ16 Rebel Commandos Unit Expansion is an elite force trained for combat. The Rebel Alliance is full of freedom fighters and this Unit Expansion includes a dedicated unit which provides support and tactics on the table in Star Wars™: Legion.

Having a variety of tools is helpful to Rebellion players. SWQ16 Rebel Commandos provides thematic gameplay and helpful support on the table using hit and run tactics. Working well with existing Units and Commanders, this will be a welcome force for players.

This looks like a mission for the Rebel Commandos!
