Logan Grimnar, Njal Stormcaller, Arjac Rockfist, and the Wolf Guard Terminators are here to represent the Space Wolves!

Games Workshop has the next wave of Space Wolves up for pre-order this weekend. We got them early from GW and we put them together for a little photoshoot in the studio. This wave really brings the beef with some heavy hitters wearing some heavy armor. There’s three characters in this batch plus the Wolf Guard Terminators, too! Oh and we’ve got our first hands-on look at the new Drop Pods as well. So let’s dive in to the new Space Wolves miniatures!

Logan Grimnar

Let’s just kick it off with the old wolf himself. Grimnar is back with a new model on a massive 80mm base. He’s got his two Fenrisian Wolves flanking him and he’s dripping with details. I love the fur accents on his gear but really there’s just so much detail here. The carving on his armor is impressive. In my opinion this is a major glow-up compared to the Space Wolves Santa model we had previously.

I know we assembled this one to showcase built, but if I were painting it, this one calls for sub assembly for painting. That said, I’m pretty sure Goatboy is the one painting it up since he built it!

Arjac Rockfist

Next up is Logan Grimnar’s personal Champion Arjac Rockfist. He cuts an imposing silhouette on the battlefield. Decked out in Terminator Armor and packing his deadly Foehammer, he’s ready to throw it around and show the enemy who the boss is! This miniature also has some great details and the left arm has two different options. If you notice, Goatboy left off the shoulder pad on it. He’s probably planning on magnetizing things for later. Arjac also comes on a 40mm base.

Njal Stormcaller

Njal Stormcaller got a pretty nice glow-up himself with this miniature. I liked the older version from 5th edition but this new plastic kit is fantastic. I really like the rune details carved into the armor. I also appreciate his cyber-raven getting a more dynamic pose, too. It really does seem like Njal Stormcaller is living up to his name in this picture as his cape is billowing in the wind. He comes on a 40mm base.

Wolf Guard Terminators

The Wolf Guard Terminators have a new kit and they look and feel more bulky. They are still on 40mm bases but they sure do fill that space more than previous versions. I’d say scale-wise these Terminators are certainly more in line with the latest iteration of Space Marine Terminators for sure. Because that’s what they are — Terminators with a Space Wolves slant. That said, you can see all the cool doodads on them. We pointed out how many head options they have, too. So you can really go nuts with this kit.

Drop Pods

Finally, we have the redesigned Drop Pods. This kit is relatively similar to the previous version but there are some differences. First off, it’s got a completely redesigned interior. Honestly, it looks a bit easier to assemble, too. It’s also “fixed” open so there’s no debate about the actual foot print of this miniature. I also like the addition of the rubble, too. I also think it looks a little sleeker/thinner but taller at the same time. I really need to bug Goatboy for a comparison shot next time.
