FW: Iron Hill Dwarves Advance

hobbit-01

Forge World is teasing some more Dwarven Units from the Iron Hills for the Hobbit!

Forge World’s commitment to bringing back awesome Hobbit/LotR minis back to the tabletop is paying off. We’ve got some new pictures of the Dwarves from the Iron Hills approaching:

Not long ago in this bulletin I showed you Dain Ironfoot: Lord of the Iron Hills. If you were at the recent Open Day in Amsterdam you may have seen him along with the warriors from his army. If you missed that great event, take a look now…

And that’s not all. What Dwarf army would go to battle without it’s war machines? How about a powerful ballista to cut down your foes?

That’s all from me for now. Make sure you check back soon for more from the Forge World Studio.

In case you missed it, here is Dain Ironfoot that was previewed earlier:

These new sculpts look great – they have a ton of detail and the casts look really sharp. That ballista in particular looks like a real war machine with the wood paneling. LotR/Hobbit fans, I hope you’re excited about getting some love from Forge World because they appear to be doing you justice!

What’s your take on these new Dwarf miniatures? Are you ready for more Hobbit goodness?

  • Carey_Mahoney

Woah! I’m not collecting LotR or AoS, but that ballista basically looks too cool not to own one! Let me just check my wallet…

  • Anti-Gravity

I said it when the pics first leaked, but the Dain Ironfoot model is absolutely gorgeous and looks like they’re continuing the trend with the warriors. Major props to the team producing this particular line!

And vastly superior to GW other so vaunted plastic kits. (I’m looking at you AOS)

      • zeno666

I agree, these look quite nice.

    • ZeeLobby

It’s definitely impressive. FW still knows their stuff when it comes to fantasy. Not overdone, great little details, a lot of character without it being stamped on their forheads, a great job.

  • Hawt Dawg

Wow, Dain makes Ernest Borgnine jealous and then some.

    Great stuff!

  • An_Enemy

I have absolutely no interest in ever owning dwarves in any game system because I generally don’t get the draw of collecting angry midgets…those fyreslayers for instance all I see are naked babies that skipped nap time…but these are the best Dwarves I’ve seen.

  • But will there be combat goats?

  • Emprah

    Dorf fortress!

  • Rainthezangoose

Know that I’m keen, i’m super keen. But if we could just get some prices.

  • normann97

Even if you don’t play LOTR, those dwarves can perfectly fit in AoS army.
And this is exactly what I’ll do, since they look too awesome to skip. Like proper, iron-plated, grim and realistic dwarves, not pop-styled Fyreslayers.
