When codices change there are many winners and losers.  Guess who’s the new sheriff in town, and the most powerful unit in Warhammer 40k?

I don’t expect the Games Workshop design studio to in any way make sure their updates to codices don’t cause alterations in Apocalypse.  As stated directly in the Apoc book, it is about fun and spectacle, not tight point balance.

But, make no mistake, codex changes DO percolate all the way through the meta game, and Apocalypse is no exception.  I’d like you to all take a good look at Warhammer 40k’s new most powerful unit.

Move over Reaver,
Move over An’Graath the Unbound.

The Heirophant Bio-titan is here to show you losers the door…

The massive Tyranid bio-titan was already a true monster with W:10 T:9 and a 2+ Armor Save.
Now however, equipped with its new WAY UPGRADED Lash whips (enemies strike at I:1) and Warp-field (3+ Invulnerable Save), its a steal for its mere 1250 pts.  Don’t forget about its Rengeration either!

The days of just hanging back and pummeling away with las-cannons or S:D weapons is gone.  The Heirophant can move fast enough to reach just about anywhere by the end of turn 2, and once it’s within weapon/assault range, you’re not gonna last long.
