Goatboy here with another quick list thought – OF KHORNE! Get ready for the most METAL band and their roadies you’ve ever seen.

This time I want to go with a full themed list.  I don’t know if it is any good but playing with a theme does let you feel like a “winner” even when you lose real bad.  Of course if you are still winning with it then you have doubled the amount of points you earned for Gamer Nirvana.  Today I want to try and build a pure Khorne list that might do ok.  It has to have answers to certain things as well as the prerequisite of being a whole lot of Khorne goodness.  Most likely we’ll look at World Eaters for the initial meat of the army mixed with some Khorne Daemon nonsense.

First of all – why aren’t Skullcrushers from the Blades of Khorne made for World Eaters.  Why can’t I have Berzerkers riding Juggernauts on the 40k landscape?  Sure I could do 3 Chaos Lords – but the GW rules guys forgot to let them get Legion Traits because they turned into Cavalry.  So no I won’t get to use all the converted ones I had in the past (I have an issue and my next army project for myself will be an AOS Brass Stampede – if I could find the time).  So enough of my soapbox rant lets get onto the list idea and breakdown.

First I said World Eaters so lets begin with a Battalion of Zerkers doing Zerk stuff all over the place.  Will call this the Anvil as the army is full of boxes of angry bloodthirsty jerks who don’t want to tip you when you bring out their extra hot chicken wings.  They also don’t like the same sports team you do so they are real turds.  Go Sportz make all the baskets into the same Goal!

World Eaters Battalion – The Roadies
HQ: Exalted Champion, MoK, Chainswords, Chainaxe – 71pts
HQ: Dark Apostle, MoK – 76pts
Troops: Khorne Berzerkers X 8, Chainsword/Chainaxe X 8 – 136pts
Troops: Khorne Berzerkers X 8, Chainsword/Chainaxe X 8 – 136pts
Troops: Khorne Berzerkers X 8, Chainsword/Chainaxe X 8 – 136pts
Dedicated Transport: Rhino, Combi-Bolter X 2, MoK – 74pts
Dedicated Transport: Rhino, Combi-Bolter X 2, MoK – 74pts
Dedicated Transport: Rhino, Combi-Bolter X 2, MoK – 74pts

Chaos Daemons – Khorne – Supreme Command – aka The Band
Lead Guitar – Bloodthirster of Insenate Rage – 340pts – Relic – Warlord – Oblivious To Pain – Armor of Scorn
Rhythm Guitar – Bloodthirster of Insenate Rage – 340pts
Bass Guitar/Lead Singer – Skarbrand – 360pts
Drummer – Daemon Prince, MoK, Wings, Malefic Talon X 1, Daemonic Axe (Will swap for 1 CP to the Big Bad A$$ axe) – 180pts

Pts: 1996 – CP – 5+3+1-1 = 8pts (that took some work)

Tactics

The idea behind this one is to have Skarbrand thrown into Deep Strike as you move up with the rest of your game.  The Guitars start building the rhythm as the Zerks and Rhinos make sure the stage is set and ready for the concert.  The drummer is there to help with anything that needs a deep axe throne in.  I know an Axe is guitar but we need someone to keep the beat.  I think of Skarbrand as this aging lead singer coming down to bring the True Message of Khorne the most Metal Chaos God.  I know I didn’t add Kharn – but that guy is so selfish and all about himself.  Plus he is a bit expensive no matter how fun he can be.  If you don’t like the Random Daemon Prince you could throw him in if you want.  I just like having more levels of Reroll to hit floating around.

This army will most likely let you win a few games in an event – and those games will let you feel like a complete bad a$$ as your monsters coming smashing in, Zerkers setting up the fight, and Skarbrand coming down and keeping everyone moshing with a plethora of wounds.  It is also funny to think about a Flyer falling down because they can’t leave combat due to the sheer head banging Skarbrand brings when he plays his newest song “Blood, Blood, Blood, Skulls, Blood” which is a song about his Father.

~Until next week – If I just roll 6’s I win right? Rate my Khornetastic list on a scale of 1 to 8 mortal!
