“We’ve completed our weekly ritual and the Rumour Engine has sent back another image to reward its faithful followers. Can you curry more favour by guessing what it is?”

Whatever it is, the surface has been cracked by what we can safely assume is a stray round from a gun – that’s pretty clear. The question now is “what the heck is this the surface of?” It could be stairs are we’re looking at it from above. Or maybe it’s something a bit more Bird-like…

The Imperial Aquila takes many forms in 40k. We’ve seen it all over the place from unit markings, to terrain pieces and statues, and even vehicles borrow it’s design. It’s the symbol of the Imperium so, ya, it’s pretty much everywhere. It’s even on the backs of Servitors:

Specifically, this model – it’s part of the Retinue for Chaplain Grimaldus. It’s yet another example of a scarred and chipped-up Imperial Aquila. This new Rumor Engine could very well be a part of some new terrain kit for the Imperium as a battle damaged bit. Unless…

Maybe it’s not for the Imperium, but for something that used to be a part of the Imperium. Like say a… traitor?

Heresy indeed! But think about it – we just got a new Slaanesh release. It would make a lot of sense to see an EC Chaos book that incorporates some of that Slaaneshi goodness along with some new Noise Marines and perhaps some other new EC units. Just tossing that one out there.

Daemon Prince Primarch Fulgrim? Maybe…
