Make sure your Warcry Warbands are using the most up to date rules–and get some behind the scenes insights–in the newest FAQ release!

There’s a new FAQ in town folks, and it updates Warcry and also gives you some insight into what the developers have in mind so you can get clarifications to those weird not-quite-corner-case rules interactions. One of the biggest changes right off the bat is a change to the way that measuring from vertical distances (and vertical distances only) works.

This helps to make many of the little fiddly distances a little easier to deal with. Now you’ve got an easier time of falling 3″ when you’re inevitably knocked off your high perch by an errant kick.

A few other changes are simple clarifications that help the game run smoothly the way it was intended to do. You must have someone with the leader rune in your warband, but you’re only allowed to take one. Cover also works a little differently:

As you can see, you’ll have to have a little bit of distance, especially when there’s a fighter with a long range weapon ready to take advantage of their reach. Meanwhile, in the designer commentary, some rules interpretations that mean you can have a fight while running on walls, wuxia style, even if you don’t actually stick the landing.

Combine that with the updated rules for measuring vertical distances, and it seems pretty clear that the designers want you to be able to fall off of things more than ever before. There’s a few more tweaks listed, with changes to the way certain abilities work for the Orks, Nighthaunts, and more general abilities like Onslaught. You can find a link to the errata below, so get your Warcry bands together and get ready to claim glory for Archaon.
