Age of Sigmar: Lumineth Realm-lords Full Release Date Still Fuzzy
The new Lumineth Realm-lords are getting a new boxed set. It’s a limited run – so when are the reinforcements going to arrive?
Games Workshop is being just a *tad* slippery when it comes to pinning down a release date for the new Lumineth Realm-lords. They ARE getting a new boxed set this weekend for Pre-order. That much is known. But as for the rest of the line…
Here’s what (little) GW had to say:
“The Lumineth Realm-lords Army Set is the spearhead for a much larger range of models that will be released later this year. While we can’t reveal when just yet, we’re happy to say you won’t be waiting too long for the rest of your army. “
Ah man! C’mon – are we a couple weeks out? A month? When can we get a hold of those Divine Bovines? Or Teclis? Or just more units to fill out the ranks?
I need a bit more holy cow in my life right now.
Really – either version would be nice.
As I mentioned before, if you’re interested in this army get “A” box – you’ll want the units, the book, the dice, and all the extras. But you really don’t need to buy two or three copies for yourself. That seems like a bad way to collect the army.
You won’t get any archers for starters…
There have been leaks of the rules online (mostly in German) and from what we can translate, the army is going to have some cool rules and do some strange things. One of things is that for every spearman units you can make one archer or cavalry unit into battleline as well. Now, that’s based off a translation (thanks google) so it might not be 100% accurate. It could be an and/or thing – regardless, the point is players kinda need access to those other units to really build an army.
Plus, you really won’t be able to get to the real tactics of this army without having some support characters or larger-than-minimum sized units. The boxed set is good – but you can’t really call 10 spearmen, 5 cavalry and a hero an army – it’s a skirmish force really.

Maybe this is just a thinly veiled excuses to show off all the other models in the range that are coming. But my point still stands: When are we actually going to get access to them?! For the Lumineth Realm-lords to have a shot at being a real army, they kinda need’em. Can we at least get a ballpark date for their release besides “soon” because I really would like to measure my expectations here.

Eh. We’ve waited this long. I guess we’re going to have to wait a little longer. What else CAN we do?
