Here’s my review of the two Destruction named characters to finish out my character series. The Strongest are Strongest Alone.

Finishing up my top heroes series, I’m moving on to the forces of Destruction.  Check out my choices for Order, Chaos, and Death here. Of course, as you probably know Destruction only has two named characters, so I wasn’t exactly spoiled for choice. However, both of the options available bring plenty of punch to the table, so I had to give them their fair piece, so here’s my thoughts on the named characters of Destruction.

Skragrott, the Loonking

The King of the Gloomspite Gitz, Skragrott brings of lot of gribbly goodness to the battlefield, and balances magic, command, and combat effortlessly. During your hero phase, so long as he’s the general, you can roll a dice and gain d3 command points on a 4+. Using his enchanted weapon Da Moon Onna Stick, he can attack in both the shooting and combat phase, and any time he deals damage he curses his target to suffer a mortal wound at the end of every battle round.

He’s also a powerful sorcerer, able to cast and unbind two spells per turn, and his crown allows him to not only ignore wounds and mortal wounds on a 4+, but add one to both his casting and unbinding rolls. Speaking of casting, his signature spell is pretty fantastic, allowing him to pick a unit within 18” to suffer d3 mortal wounds and, should he roll a 10+ on his cast, negate on of their magic items. If a frustrating Slaanesh hero with a Sword of Judgement is mercing your boyes, just Nikkit! Finally, his command ability allows him to add a level of control to the Gloomspite utility piece, the Bad Moon. While he’s alive and the general, you can spend a command point to choose whether the Moon moves once, twice, or even not at all. If you want the whole package for your general, this is the gobbo for you.

Gordrakk, the Fist of Gork

I talked about this guy a little while ago when I rated the best combat special characters, and he is definitely still close to the top of that list. He can hammer out a ton of damage, and just gets stronger as he kills enemies. He also brings his enormous Mawkrusha Bigteef to the battlefield, who is an even tougher and angrier version of the standard Mawkrusha befitting the chosen general of the forces of Destruction, and can empower not only Ironjawz but all Destruction units with his powerful command ability.

Gordrakk comes by his moniker for a reason, and he is a definite force to be reckoned with when he’s pointed at the enemy.

Do you use either of these gents in your Destruction armies?
