Today, Games Workshop takes a closer look at the Skorpekh Destroyer – the new tri-pedal murderbots of the Necrons!

Last week we took an inventory of all the new Necron Units that were on the way. It’s a lot of new models and units and we’re pretty excited to see them get such a massive overhaul. One of the units we saw in the teaser video that got mentioned but didn’t have a model preview for was this this one:

As it turns out, yes that IS a new unit and it’s called a Skorpekh Destroyer!

“First up, with a name like Skorpekh Destroyer, it clearly hails from the Destroyer Cult, meaning it has… let’s just say ‘anger management issues.’* However, unlike the more familiar Destroyers and Heavy Destroyers, which favour annihilating their prey from afar, Skorpekh Destroyers like to reap them up close and personal with murderous sweeps of their enormous blades.”

Destroyer Cult, you say? Now that’s a Cult that Chaos, Blue Oysters, and Genestealers need to keep an eye on. Anyhow, now that we know the name of them and gotten a better look at the actual models, we’re done, right? Nope! We also have a look at their weapon profile:

Uh…YIKES! The +2 str is bad news. The AP -4 is even scarier. But that flat 3 Damage?! Oh yeah, these guys are going to be murderbots for sure. “At least it’s just one robot, right?” Wrong. The Skorpekh Destroyers are going show up as a unit:

Notice that they all appear to a have slightly different blades and GW did call that out. However, we don’t have any additional info on those yet so we’ll have to wait and see what they do. For now, just get ready for Necrons to bring the fight up-close and personal.

What do you think of this new addition to the Necron Roster?
