Conquer the Green Hills Zone with this Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO Kit

Lego Ideas has produced another great kit, and Sonic fans will absolutely want this one for their collection.

This year is the 30th anniversay of Sonic the Hedgehog (yeah, I felt old too when I read that). There are a ton of collectibles on the way from Funko, Jakks Pacific, and Lego is adding to that with a new set designed by a fan.

The selection of Sonic fan Viv Grannell’s set was announced this week by the Lego Ideas review board. It will be completed with the help of the folks at SEGA.  She submitted the design in 2019, hit the 10k needed for review last year, and you’ll be able to buy your own set soon. In an official announcement the creator had this to say about  her design making it to retailer’s shelves.

“I’ve been invested in the world of Sonic for almost my entire life, and it’s such a perfect fit for the Lego system that I spent about a year rallying support for it to happen. Having 10,000 people back my design was overwhelming enough, even with friends and family behind me, but having it be selected for further development was the most exciting secret I have ever had to keep!”

There’s no piece count because the set isn’t final but it will include a host of characters from the game including Sonic and Doctor Robotnik, plus a mini recreation of the The Green Hills Zone.
