With The Book of Rust coming soon, let’s take a look at some other War Zones we need to see explored.

The Book of Rust, Act I of War Zone Charadon is coming out soon. This book promises to have some cool new stuff in it, not the least of which is some new supplements and the very intriguing Armies of Renown. These are some cool ideas, and while we don’t know for sure it’s possible that we could see more War Zone’s after Charadon (on the other hand we never got anything similar to Vigilus again so who knows). Assuming that we are going to get more of them, let’s take a look at five War Zones we’d love to get books about.

War Zone: Ultramar

There is nothing saying that a War Zone has to be an opened ended/ongoing conflict. I’d love a book or two taking a look at the pretty epic and interesting fighting that went down in Ultramar during the Plague Wars. While a lot of the background is already done it would be great to get some extra details and options to field some of the famous armies from the conflict. This is a big a famous event and let’s get another look at it.

War Zone: Baal

Everyone one loves the Blood Angels, and the conflict around Baal is one of the most active and covered ongoing stories in 40K. Sure Psychic Awakening: Blood of Baal already touched on this, but that book barely moved the timeline forward, only really covering the start of the Blood Angels’ counterattack. You could easily get some books out of this, with one covering the Devastation and some others covering the counter-attack and the next chapters. Give us a supplement for more Blood Angels successors and for the love of god give Nids some love. We know the Blood Angels ended the Devastation with a massively inflated 10th Company, so let’s get a crazy pumped-up 10th Company Army of Renown.

War Zone: Webway

Not everything has to be about the Imperium and Space Marines. How about some kind of War zone that not only deals with Xenos but moves the Ynnari storyline ahead a bit? We’ve been waiting about 4 years for anything to happen with them, and now would really be the time. It could all deal with internal Eldar conflict, maybe introduce Exodites? Or you could loop in Thousand Sons and Slannesh for some extra fun.

War Zone: Armageddon

Speaking of Xenos campaigns, maybe it’s time to take us back to old Armageddon. We know that conflict is ongoing with a massive three-way battle between World Eaters/Khrone, Orks and Imperials. You could throw in some Space Wolves and Grey Knights and really have all the classic old friends get together again. Let’s check in with Yarrik, Ghaz, and maybe bring in Angron? Could this be a book that updates Black Templar to have Primaris stuff? There is really a lot of cool classic ground to re-tread here.

War Zone: Sabbat

Lastly, my absolute long shot, dream War Zone would be a historical look a the Sabbat World Crusade. Bringing to life the epic battles of Gaunts Ghosts on the table would just be so cool, and it would be a very different kind of warzone. We could get some real updates to the Guard rules, and supplements on things like the Tanith and Blood Pact. I know this one is pretty unlikely, but it would just be SO COOL.
