The classic Marvel Studios D&D Saturday morning cartoon (and if that isn’t a marketer’s dream) is streaming all day on Twitch, starting in a few hours!
The 1980s were a heck of a time, let me tell you. In the halcyon days of 1983, Marvel Studios decided to create a cartoon (not Hanna-Barbera as many think), bringing to life the adventure of a group of cool teens/kids who went on a fateful ride at the Dungeons & Dragons ride in an amusement park and got pulled into a world of adventure beyond their wildest dreams, guided by a helpful, if small-statured, Dungeon Master. It was a hit then, a cult classic later, and no matter how many layers of irony you’re on, it’s premiering on Twitch today as part of the all-natural Summer Splash Secret Lair that WotC is celebrating this weekend.
In fact, in about an hour from press time (8am PT/11am ET) the whole series will be live on MTG’s Twitch. So grab yourself a bowl of cereal, your comfiest PJs (or at least Pajama Bottoms if you have to be on a screen somewhere), because now’s your chance to goof off all day and watch cartoons like… well, like most days, honestly, because who can even do anything else with all that’s going on in the world.
Still, perhaps this time you can put on your show in the background and pretend to be productive while you get engaged by the schemes of Venger, the might of Warduke, and the inexplicable magic of Presto.
In honor of the Saturday Morning Dungeons & Dragons @MTGSecretLair, we're streaming the complete D&D animated series from the 80s!
Join us on our Twitch channel next Friday, July 9th at 8AM PT!

All of this is done in anticipation of the upcoming Saturday Morning Secret Lair Drop–which casts some of your favorite Magic cards in four-color D&D cartoon art:
It’s 1983. It’s Saturday morning. You douse a bowl of sugary cereal with a splash of milk, then run over to the TV. (You try not spill, but you spill a little anyway. Someone else will get that.) After fiddling with the dials, you tune in for the first ever episode of the Dungeons & Dragons TV show. Cartoon scientist and skilled artist Tyler Walpole has successfully distilled that feeling into Magic art. Just look at these things, they’re spot on! Whether you’re a fan of D&D, a fan of Magic, or just a fan of fun, you’ll find what you’re looking for in this drop.
- 1x Borderless Commander’s Sphere
- 1x Borderless Hero’s Downfall
- 1x Borderless Impact Tremors
- 1x Borderless Primal Vigor

Be sure and catch the stream this Friday!
