Ghur is a savage place; prepare accordingly. Let’s take a look at how everyone can get their hands on monstrous creatures. Big is beautiful in AoS 3.

Age of Sigmar 3.0 puts a heavy emphasis on Monsters, and for some of the factions, this has been great (i.e., the entire Grand Alliance of Destruction). However, a few of the factions find themselves sorely lacking in the big critter department, and even though they have no problem dispatching the monsters of their foes, they can’t get the most out of the 3.0 strategems. Well, I may have a solution for that, going back to some of the original Fantasy and Forge World beasties, at least for three of the factions.

Ossiarch Bonereapers – Necrolith Colossus

Back in the day, the Tomb Kings could summon massive constructs to march alongside them to battle, wielding massive blades or bows that fired tree trunk-sized bolts into the enemy ranks. With the way Ossiarchs are made, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine them stitching together a few Immortis Guard to make one giant bone creature. Plus, it would make sense that Nagash would want to resurrect some remnant of his bygone life and remind himself of the glory of Nehekhara.

Sylvaneth – Massive Forest Creatures

The Sylvaneth are certainly not hurting for big beasties, with both the Treelords and the Wardroth beetle sitting firmly at the top of the Ghyran food chain. However, I would love to see them dip into the feral spirits of the forest a little more and pull out something like a Peryton, a Forest Dragon, or even just a giant wolf or elk. It would be really cool to see Alarielle dip into her more dreadful aspect and pull out some nasty monsters from the legends of the Old World.

Slaves to Darkness – War Mammoth

Like the Sylvaneth before, Chaos isn’t really short on monsters, especially if you dip into any of the god-specific battletomes. However, one that would still be an awesome addition while remaining undivided would be the massive War Mammoth. You could use it to buff Marauder heavy lists, put a Warshrine on its back, or even reintroduce Wulfrik. The possibilities with this furry pachyderm are endless.
