There’s a few new waves coming, so get your army ready!

The new Stormcast and Orruk battletomes are right around the corner, with a Chaos tome of some kind (probably Nurgle) not far behind, and all the new stuff we’ve seen is pretty exciting. However, just because we don’t have a new book yet doesn’t mean we can’t prepare for what’s coming. There are a lot of excellent models in both the Stormcast and Orruk ranges already, and they’ll probably still have good warscrolls in the upcoming tome, so here are a few things you can use to pass the time until the new stuff drops.

Maw Krusha

The Kruleboyz are getting some really cool new big monsters, like the Trogs and Big Bird, but nobody can deny the awesome punchiness of the Angry Cabbage himself. A Megaboss on Maw Krusha is a phenomenal leader unit for an Ironjawz or Big Waaagh army and would even make a great line smasher as an allied unit in a straight Kruleboyz list. And frankly, even if the rules do take a huge hit, the model is cool enough to still be worth the effort.

Lord-Arcanum

With this Stormcast leader, you have a ton of options for a build, and a combo caster is never a bad thing. You can build it on foot, on the leonine Dracoline, the lightning-fast Gryph-charger, or even a mighty Tauralon. While they don’t quite measure up to the power of a Stardrake or the coolness of the new Draconith cavalry, the Arcanum is an almost auto-include thanks to its incredible spells and command abilities. GW loves their boys in gold, so it’s pretty safe to say this is one unit that will always be just that; a unit.

Terrain

While not technically part of the upcoming battletomes, the new terrain kits from Games Workshop are a gorgeous addition to any tabletop, and can be used to spruce up a play area, a display board, or even chopped up to decorate a thematic base. With the new Path to Glory rules in 3.0, there’s never been a better time to make epic heroes to lead your armies into battle, and the latest terrain releases will easily turn an interesting model into an incredible one. Plus, they make your display shelf look a thousand times better.
