The hype machine is in full effect and it’s overwhelmingly positive.

The reviews started pouring in after the film’s debut at the Venice Film festival – winning a praise from critics that say it will impress fans of Herbert’s book with its scale, design, and performances.

“I’ve watched Dune & it’s among the most immersive moviegoing experiences I’ve ever had w/ a sci-fi film. There is masterful filmmaking on display here. When paired w/ its big, monstrous sound, the film wondrously transports you to a new, exciting, horrific yet beautiful world.” – Fandango’s Erik Davis

“Dune is a cinematic thunderclap. Maybe my favorite film of the year. Denis Villeneuve & co. created a phenomenal adaptation of Herbert’s work. It feels alien in the way the best sci-fi does and balances visceral violence and cruelty with resilience and hope. An absolute banger.” – Nerdist’s Dan Casey

“Dune is properly epic and a true blockbuster. The type we haven’t seen since Lord of the Rings. The kind of movie that no home theatre setup could do true justice. With genuine stakes and a satisfying lack of superheroics. And Hans Zimmer’s best score.”Deadline’s Joe Utichi

Along with the praise, there’s some new behind the scenes footage.

I have been excited about this since it was announced – I cannot wait to buy my ticket for IMAX.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

The film stars Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Oscar nominee Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Oscar winner Javier Bardem.
