Antlers is finally making it into theaters this week after more than a year-long delay.

The small-town horror genre gets a monstrous twist from producer Guillermo Del Toro, Out of the Furnace director Scott Cooper, and writer Nick Acosta. The story focuses on a small community in Oregon. It looks like a good choice for folks that like gore and a thriller feel to their horror. It’s being described as the grossest movie of the year by some critics that have seen it, so it may be one to steer clear of if you’re not into buckets of fake blood and body horror.

From the visionary world of acclaimed director Scott Cooper and horror maestro Guillermo del Toro comes ANTLERS. In an isolated Oregon town, a middle-school teacher (Keri Russell) and her sheriff brother (Jesse Plemons) become embroiled with her enigmatic student (Jeremy T. Thomas) whose dark secrets lead to terrifying encounters with a legendary ancestral creature who came before them. Based on the short story The Quiet Boy by Nick Antosca.

Antlers is directed by Scott Cooper and produced by Guillermo Del Toro. The cast is led Keri Russell and includes Jeremy T. Thomas, Jesse Plemons, JT Corbitt, Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane, Amy Madigan

Antlers arrives in theaters on October 29th.
