There’s a new Battlebox on the way from Games Workshop. So how much will Eldritch Omens cost?

So there’s a new battle box hot on the heels of the Shadow Throne battle box. This one is called Eldritch Omens and it features Chaos vs Aeldari. You’ve probably seen some previews already but we’re here to attempt to do a pricing breakdown of the contents and see if we can guess the price point.

What’s In The Box?

Here’s what we know for sure:

“This battlebox contains 16 miniatures, a whopping 15 of which are all new. The 16th is a mighty, smoke-belching Forgefiend – the forces of Chaos can never have too many daemon engines. You also get a 32-page Eldritch Omens booklet that outlines the narrative of the battle for Daethe in the war-torn Nachmund sector.”

So, 16 minis in the box. 15 are brand new and 1 is the Forgefiend. Cool. That should make this a little easier, right?

Aeldari Forces

We don’t have pictures of all the models for one side together — but we do have pictures for all the models.

So we’ve got an Autarch, Asuryani Rangers, and the Shroud Runners. Here’s the thing — these are all brand new models so we’re going to have to guess the prices of them. Thankfully, we have some like models we can use as pricing templates. For the Aeldari we can base these off of the pricing structure of the new Necron and Ork models. The Autarch is based of a single character, the Rangers are based off a 5 man unit, and the Shroud Runners are based off a 3-man vehicle team.

Aeldari Pricing

Autarch $35

Asuryani Rangers $50

Shroud Runners $60

Estimated MSRP Value: $145

Chaos Forces

We’ve got a similar setup for the Chaos forces — no single picture of them together, but we got a look at all the models.

Again, while we don’t have confirmed pricing for everything, we can use existing models to get some rough estimates here. It would probably be more appropriate to use Space Marines pricing as a template. The Warpsmith is a character, the Chosen unit is a 5 man unit, and we have the price of a Forgefiend.

Chaos Warpsmith $35

Chaos Chosen Marines $60

Forgefiend $75

Estimated MSRP Value: $170

Based on the estimated values here we have a total estimated MSRP of $315. I’m pretty confident we’re within a $10 spread here of the actual pricing. We’ll find that when we get closer to the actual launch date. So now the next question is…what’s the price going to be?

Well, Shadow Throne was the most recent Battle Box and it came in at $170. That box had a pricing breakdown where the contents worked out to $268. That discount worked out to about 37% off. If GW follows a similar pricing discount then that should peg Eldritch Omens to around $200. If we get lucky, they’ll drop it to $190 or even match Shadow Throne at $170. On the other hand $210 doesn’t seem that far off from their pricing points either. So my guess is that it should end up in the $190-$210 ballpark for pricing.

There’s also the possibility that there are some other contents in the box we don’t yet know about. GW only mentioned the miniatures and the 32-page book. We’re assuming there isn’t any terrain or dice in the box, too.

So what price point do you think Eldritch Omens will land at?
