Games Workshop is highlighting more of the Necromundan Ash Wastes with another map section. Check this out.

Everyone loves a good map, right? It helps make these far off sci-fi worlds seem more real and plausible. It also allows for world builders to really get a sense of the scale and the places they are building. Today, GW drop another chunk of the Necromunda Map and it’s looking really cool.

“Key to this north/south trade is Cinderak City and the Great Crater in which it shelters. Resting on Necromunda’s equator, this marks the halfway point between Hive Mynerva and Hive Primus. It was created centuries ago, during the civil war between Lady Cinderak Helmawr and Lord Gothrul Helmawr,* when the former obliterated Hive Meridian in a fit of rage at their sibling. “

Here we have a new chunk of the map of Necromunda. We can see other various points of interest on the surface of the planet. But we also get a look at the various highways that are used by the convoys to transport materials around. Those make for juicy targets for various gangs and, of course, the newly introduced Ash Wastes Nomads.

Now if you’re wondering why we’re referring to this as a new chunk it’s because GW already showed off part of the map around Hive Primus. And if you were wondering if those two map sections fit together, well, here you go:

The answer is yes. Yes they do fit. Obviously, we have sections missing. But I have a feeling that GW might be sitting on those sections for later. Either way, this is a BIG area and it’s really cool to see where this new expansion (and eventual skirmish battles) will take place.

Now we just need GW to release a super hi-rez image of the whole map…
