Netflix’s Resident Evil series will revolve around the two teen children of a well-known franchise villain.

Capcom’s beloved zombie-virus franchise will come back to the screen thanks to the creative minds at Netflix. The streaming service has released teaser art for the upcoming series and announced its expected premiere for this summer. Netflix has also promised that the show will have “the best of the Resident Evil DNA.”

Netflix’s Resident Evil Series Synopsis

Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.

The show will take place in two timelines. The first follows Billie and Jade Wesker as teenagers living in New Raccoon City. The second takes place in a post-zombie-virus future, presumably brought about in some way by their father, the infamous game character Albert Wesker.

New Resident Evil Poster Art

Netflix’s two new posters feature a bright yellow backdrop, the logo, and the show’s release date. The first poster illustrates the presence of the T-virus in a vial of tested blood.

We also got a poster featuring a pill labeled “Joy”, the anti-depressant developed by the Umbrella Corporation. And of course, there’s blood, too.
