Solasta: Crown of the Magister adds Multiplayer next week, according to a new release. 5E co-op on a tactical grid? Sign me up.

That’s right, Solasta: Crown of the Magister will soon be multiplayer. Next week, in fact, according to a recent release from the developers. With the upcoming DLC, Solasta: Lost Valley, which is already a brand-new campaign, players will also gain the ability to play 2-4 player co-op adventures.

You and up to three friends will be able to progress through the original campaign or the new one, as the developers have a plan to keep every campaign from here on out multiplayer-compatible. What else is available in the Lost Valley/Multiplayer update? Let’s take a look.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister – Multiplayer and More in Lost Valley

To start with, Lost Valley is in and of itself, a 20-hour campaign. It starts with a party of adventurers stuck in The Valley of Dominion. There, they’ll contend with warring factions and hostile environments as they try and locate a missing fellow.

But on to the Multiplayer aspects. Multiplayer in Solasta: Crown of the Magister works pretty simply. One player will create a new campaign, which can either be one of the pre-existing ones or a custom campaign. The latter option, I expect, will be the one most folks will be into.

Solasta has an incredibly robust custom dungeon maker. But, if you’re hoping for multiplayer shenanigans through your own custom dungeon, as of the Multiplayer Beta, custom dungeons aren’t compatible. Which seems like a bummer, until you realize that custom campaigns are. So all you have to do is convert your existing custom dungeons into custom campaigns. Here’s a handy guide:

Custom Dungeons are not playable in Multiplayer – but fear not, it’s very simple to convert them into Custom Campaigns and re-upload them on Steam Workshop!

    2. In the Campaigns Tab (selected by default), click on New Campaign at the bottom
    3. Fill the Campaign Settings on the left
    4. Click on the right window (Embedded Content) and scroll to the top
    5. Under “Locations”, click on Import
    6. Select your Custom Dungeon
    7. Click on your Custom Dungeon and click on “Set Start”
    8. Select Save (top left), and then Close
    9. Click on your new Campaign and click Browse Files
    10. Add a .png file with the same name as the Campaign in the folder (which will be the thumbnail of your Custom Campaign in the Steam Workshop)
    11. Go back to Solasta, click on your new Campaign and click Publish
