We’re deep into Summer for Age of Sigmar — so how’s that 2022 Roadmap looking so far?

Age of Sigmar has gotten 4 books fairly recently and we have a good idea of what’s on the horizon. With the newly announced Arcane Cataclysm battlebox we also have a pretty good idea of what Battletomes are next. But how does that stack with the Roadmap we got earlier this year? Time to do a little check-in.

Age of Sigmar 2022 Roadmap Check-in

We already got the Nighthaunt and Daughters of Khaine books. And this past weekend the Sylvaneth and Skaven books also landed in stores.

Taking a look at the roadmap above that pegs the latest two books firmly in that “Summer” spot. So how is Autumn shaping up?

Arcane Cataclysm is showing off the Lumineth Realm-lords and the Disciples of Tzeentch. And hey, would you look at that — the first two books in Autumn are a “Order Battletome” and a “Chaos Battletome” and that’s exactly what we have here.

Is that a confirmation that these two Battletomes are next? Considering that Games Workshop has released the last 3 Battleboxes followed by their respective Battletomes shortly after…that sure sounds like it’s a pattern!

Before we start speculating on a Battlebox featuring TWO Destruction armies (which honestly sounds kind of cool) don’t forget we did get a splash release for Maggotkin in there, too. So it’s possible that the two Destruction books coming could be solo affairs.

Anyhow, with all that covered, here is where we’re standing thus far based on the 2022 Roadmap for Age of Sigmar:

 Spring

  • Nighthaunt (released)
  • Daughters of Khaine (released)

Summer

  • Skaven (released)
  • Sylvaneth (released)

Autumn

  • Lumineth Realm-lords (pretty much confirmed)
  • Disciples of Tzeentch (pretty much confirmed)
  • Destruction Battletome
  • Destruction Battletome

Winter

  • Slaves To Darkness (confirmed)

We’ll have to wait and see the actual timelines for those books for an Autumn release. Here in Texas, we only have two seasons: Fire and Ice. Right we’re just sitting in the Summer Heat so Autumn feels like a long way off. But maybe for the rest of the world it’s closer than you think!
