The World Eaters are getting their own Codex. Does that mean Daemon Primarch Angron will make an appearance?

It’s time to get out your tinfoil hats and conspiracy boards because we’ve got some dots to connect. But the more we think about it the less crazy it seems. Let’s back-up a bit before we jump in. We know the World Eaters are going to get a full codex a la the Thousand Sons and Death Guard. That’s all covered in this video:

Games Workshop is releasing a White Dwarf with rules as a hold over until that book comes out.

Plus, we’ve gotten the cover art so we know it’s coming:

That’s all well and good. (As an aside, it sure looks like the World Eater are throwing down with some Tyranids…perhaps this is Ka’Bandha’s doing post Baal?) But that’s where our info stops. Time to get out the conspiracy theories.

Where’s Angron?

Let’s start with the basics: Angron is the Primarch of the World Eaters. Post-Hersey he turned into a Daemon Prince/Primarch. He was also banished back to the warp for a hundred years and a day. But that was during the First War of Armageddon which conically happened in 444 M41. The Great Rift happened during 999 M41 — during the 13th Black Crusade. That’s well over the “hundred years and a day” warp banishment that Angron received.

So, we know that he’s “Free” from this imprisonment. We also know that he’s been active behind the scenes — at least in the Chaos Codexes that mention him and his brother Fulgrim. Sure, these are mosting just in passing and are meant as nods to their existence. But that means they DO exist.

And then we get to the Thousand Sons and the Death Guard…

When these two armies got their own codexes they also got their Primarchs. It’s kind of a BIG deal when they do. We know new Khorne Berzerker models are on the way. And the video hints at even more stuff to come as GW ramps up the World Eaters to get “the full World Eaters experience.

The “Full World Eater Experience” usually involves chain-axe sounds, screaming, skulls, and whole mess of blood.

Now, that could mean a lot of things. For the World Eaters who are famous for those Berzerkers what else could they add? Well, that’s kind of the point! Games Workshop has an entire Codex to fill up with World Eaters Units. Take a look at the Death Guard. Besides Plague Marines they added:

  • Poxwalkers
  • Miasmic Malignifier (Terrain Kit)
  • Multiple Characters
  • Two Terminator Units (Blightlord Terminators, Deathshroud
  • Foetid Bloat-Drone
  • Plagueburst Crawler
  • Myphitic Blight-hauler
  • And of course their Primarch Mortarion

The Thousand Sons might not have gotten quite as much attention but they did get new Rubric Marines, Scarab Occult Terminators, multiple Heroes, and lots of Tzeentch Daemon support. Oh and Magnus.

It was enough units to actually fill out a codex. The World Eaters codex can’t just be new Berzerker Models with rules and the Lord of Skulls. There’s got to be more units on the way. Terminators?  Cultists? Daemons? A terrain kit that’s just a pile of skulls?

Close…but just skulls, please.

But you can’t have a Traitor Legion codex without the thing that makes it truly unique: A Daemon Prince Primarch.

The Bloodthirsters are cool and all…but imagine what a Daemon Primarch Angron could be. GW went nuts with Be’lakor. Magnus and Mortarion are amazing. I really hope Angron gets his due.

Or I guess we’ll have to bust out his Epic model. So tiny…

What do you think? Are we going to see Angron with the World Eaters Codex?
