Goatboy’s Warhammer 40K – Hocus Pocus, CSM Warp Locus!

There has to be something a CSM army can do with Warp Locus. I think I found it!

I know there is a Be’Lakor list that could float up utilizing some of the teleport abilities you have in the game.  Burn some CP, float him up, then dump out a ton of damage on turn 2.  This isn’t that list as while that is cool I get the feeling it would be too easy to play around.  Thus this mad scientist of an idea is built to try to perform a mission the army wants to do. Utilizing some Daemonic Allies to come out and burn the world.  With that – let’s throw that list out there.

First of all we want to use Warp Locus so we have a few options.  I thought about a Lord of Skulls list using some Bloodletters to pop out. But you are seriously low on CP and it feels like it might be hard to make the rest of it work.  The Lord of Skulls builds that work seems to be the ones that buff the hell out of one of them. Then they try to profit from the destruction it can cause.  It isn’t a bad idea and something I’ve marked in my mind to explore later but this isn’t that list either.

Instead it is a Word Bearers list designed to get to the middle and hold it while throwing out missile units of Possessed as needed.  It wants to hold the middle with some Terminators. Then generate some Secondary points, and hopefully some Command points as it tries to hold on.  From there it has some bodies that can hold backfield options and just try to keep alive. It feels light on threats but it is a thought list that might work.  I wanted to use Warp Locus and this is what my fever dream of a brain can come up with.

Care and Feeding of Your CSM Warp Locus

As you can see this is a pretty simple army with a central brick of Terminators designed to keep your HQ’s alive so they can perform actions, cast spells, get grudge tokens, and just be a pain in the butt.  The Flamers can come down and be in a place to burn things as needed off of the Master of Possession or just in general.  The Screamers can go out and hold an objective for a turn or just be a pain in the butt as well as the little Possessed missiles you can send out as needed.

You should have enough little options to throw banners on things as well as the two Legionaries set up to help with a bit of shooting or backup spell casting with the Mark of Slaanesh.  The Venomcrawler is a bit out of place but it should be there to help smooth out some Casting.  Protect it a bit and let it roam around the backfield as a bully as needed.

For the Warmaster!
