Wizards of the Coast dropped a TON of the Magic card spoilers for the upcoming 40k Crossover. Here’s a few we can’t wait to play!

In case you missed the news the Warhammer 40k X Magic: The Gathering set is coming October 7th, 2022. The Universes Beyond set includes Four 100 card Commander Decks. We got a taste of the cards but Wizards of the Coast has show off a TON of the cards now. So we decide to mill through them and tutor up 5 of our favorites from the library.

Abaddon the Despoiler

While I’m personally excited about the Tyranid deck, I gotta start with Abaddon the Despoiler. Why? Because he’s a complete beatstick and is one of the Commander options. As a 5/5 with Trample he’s going to be fun to run around with — but equally as important is his Mark of Chaos Ascendant ability. Do a bunch of damage, get to play cards for free. Seems good to me!

The Swarmlord

As much as I really want to just list all the Commander card options from this list, The Swarmlord will be the last one. Another 5/5 beatstick, He’s got the added benefit of Rapid Regeneration as well. I like this as it’s also a nod to The Swarmlord’s (and thus the Hivemind’s) ability to adapt and get better with every engagement. Kill him and he’ll only come back stronger than before…

Bone Sabers

Of all the Tyranid reveals I’m going with Bone Sabers! Why? Because I think they are hilarious! Every time you attack with the equipped creature, they get 4 +1/1 tokens. That’s just silly. Especially looking at the rest of the Tyranid cards and how many tokens you’re going to generate with them. You’re going to need a flood of tokens with the Tyranid deck — and I think that’s exactly the point.

Arcane Signet

I thought this was a cool concept and wanted to showcase them. Arcane Signet is getting 40k versions and they have different art variants. It’s a 2 cost artifact that allows you to add 1 mana of a color from your Commander’s color identity so they can be pretty handy. But I just liked the art. And Sol Ring is getting a similar treatment as well as a few other cards.

The Tyranid Cards…All of them.

No seriously. Take your pick. There’s SO MANY to choose from and I just can’t pick at this point. All the greatest hits are there: The Winged Hive Tyrant, Malanthrope, Deathleaper, Old One Eye, a freakin’ Hierophant Bio-Titan, Screamer-Killer, The Red Terror, and a fat Genestealer Patriarch chompin’ on something!

That’s just a handful of them, too. I’m going to have to get my hands on this deck. I might have to buy 4. Ya know…one for each hand.
