Necromunda: What Are The Other House Vehicles

After the events of Ciderak Burning I’m wondering what the heck the other three House vehicles will be?!

Necromunda is in a really fun and interesting narrative spot right now. The first book in the Succession Wars was a massive shake-up for the status quo on the planet of Necromunda. We covered that in more detail but let’s just say that things will narratively never be the same again.

Rules-wise we did get two new vehicles introduced to the two main stars of this book. The Goliaths got their Maulers (which are out) and Escher got their Cutters (which are probably on the way).

And previously in Ash Wastes House Orlock got their Outrider Quads while the newly introduced Ash Waste Nomads had their creepy Dustback Helamites.

That still leaves the original 3 houses without vehicles. Plus the Palanite Enforcers and the Corpse Grinder Cult without vehicles. And what about the Ironhead Squat Prospectors?! So let’s talk about those factions and what sort of vehicles to expect from them.

House Van Saar

The most technologically advanced of the OG houses, Van Saar will probably have some tricked out tech thing from their rad-leaking STC to use. They already have hover boards. But the Escher vehicle is a Jetbike… Maybe they don’t go with a vehicle per se. Maybe they lean more into their exo-suit options.

Whatever they end up with I’m very curious to see how it turns out.

House Delaque

So what the heck sort of a vehicle would these sneaky trenchcoats from the shadows ride in/on? Well, there’s a lore bit in Ciderack Burning about how Delaque gangers are spotted off in the distance during one of the settlement attacks. In my head, I picture them on Dirt bikes and ATV’s a la the Genestealer Cult’s Atalan Jackals.

But I also think that the Delaque gangers would have some sort of scouting vehicle — like a buggy.

I can totally picture a Delaque buggy roaming around the Ash Wastes keeping tabs on targets and scooting away from fights that aren’t to their advantage.

House Cawdor

So what sort of vehicle would these scavengers find to use in the Ash Wastes? The answer is “whatever they can get their hands on!” Which brings me to two options. The first one takes inspiration from the Orks who invaded Armageddon.

I think a truck or “buggy” that’s all scrapped-up would be a perfect fit for them. It’s that Hodge-Podge Ramshackle look that matters the most. It could really be anything though. Even something bigger. Which brings me to my next option…

A Scrap Armiger! Okay, okay, this would be busted as heck but it’s been a long time dream project of mine to make a Cawdor gang that has scrap-versions of Armigers and Knights. It would actually be a 40k army that uses the Ad Mech rules but replaces all the little guys with Cawdor gangers. But the real hobby project is scrap-up job you’d have to do on a Knight kit and Armigers. So yeah, this is me just wishlisting here.

Palanite Enforcers

Even though the Palanites don’t have jurisdiction outside of their Hives, I still think they’d need a vehicle. And since the Ash Wastes are essentially Mad Max’s wasteland, I can’t think of a better source of inspiration.

The should totally get something crazy looking and crazy fast. I mean, sure you could convert an Achilles Ridgerunner for them but a new vehicle would be sweet. Either that or we need to go back to their Arbites Roots and just give them a Paddy Wagon.

What about the Corpse Grinders and Ironhead Prospectors? I’m leaving those up to you! If you’ve got some ideas drop them in the comments and tell us what vehicles you think they should get.
