We’ve only gotten a peek at what’s in store for the Seraphon, and there’re a few more things I’m hoping to see.

The LVO was a pretty exciting time for tabletop releases. Players of every game under Games Workshop’s massive umbrella got a glimpse of the fantastic things headed our way in 2023. For the warriors of the Realms, the Old Ones fired up their juiciest spawning pools for a Seraphon range update. Alongside a brand new Starmaster and Skink Cavalry unit, the long overdue Saurus upgrade was revealed, and it’s gorgeous! However, the preview also reported that this reveal was less than half of what’s coming for the Seraphon. Putting on my precognition cap, I put as much hope energy as possible into the aether. There are a few kits I really want to see, so fingers crossed the following show up.

New Temple Guard

With the minor Saurus Guard seeing an update, the easiest prediction would be for upgraded Temple Guard set. These ancient warriors are tasked with the protection of the Slann. As such, they are a good deal tougher and better equipped than their lesser kin. I’d love to see them get the same treatment as their cousins, with larger bodies, deadlier weapons, and more pronounced adornments. If nothing else, I would love more options for the set.

New Flying Monster

Yes I know these are Stormcast, but stay with me here. According to canon, the Seraphon were responsible for breeding the dragons for the Stormcast. While Sigmar took the lion’s share of these noble beasts, it seems unlikely that the children of the Old Ones didn’t keep a few of the beasts for themselves. While I doubt they’ll have the same look as the armored Knight-Draconis mounts, I’d love to see some feral dragons flying alongside the Ripperdactyl riders of the Skinks. Honestly, it would be amazing to see some Saurus riding them into battle, guiding their primal fury into those that would undo their great works.

The Return of Kroq-Gar

While this is unlikely, I’d love to see Kroq-Gar return as a named character. He was one of my favorite characters in the Lizardmen lore. His feral bond with the beasts he led made him truly unique. I want to see him at the head of a brand new subfaction similar to the Thunder Lizards. If nothing else, I just want an updated Saurus Oldblood.
