We’re trusting in the heart of the cards with CosBunnyCosplay’s Apprentice Illusion Magician Cosplay from Yu-Gi-Oh!

I feel like we don’t often see Yu-Gi-Oh! cosplays. Sure, they pop up from time to time, but with a series that’s turning twenty-four this year, it’s fair to say that its most prominent cosplaying years may be in the past. But maybe not its best cosplays’ years.

Despite being an iconic part of anime history, Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of those shows where most of the characters don’t have outfits that are particularly interesting. Sure, the Duel Disk is pretty recognizable if you can wear it on your arm for any length of time, and Yugi’s hair could be an instant cosplay giveaway from across a convention floor. But the most interesting designs are really in the heart of the cards in the designs of the cards

CosbunnyCosplay, aka Morgan, brings the Apprentice Illusion Magician card to life with her very fun and colorful cosplay. The mixture of sewing and foam work as well as props with their wand come together to create an effect that’s armory and soft at the same time. It’s a beautifully made and an especially unique costume. But what I really, really love most about this costume is the delightful hit of pure nostalgia I get from it.

“You’ve fought a valiant duel, my friend, and this is the hardest move I’ve ever had to make.”

“It’s not always about being number one. It’s about dueling with bravery, honor, and respect! And most importantly, putting the needs of others ahead of your own!”
