Warhammer 40K: World Eaters Will Take a Huge Bite Out of the Meta – FTN

The World Eaters are positioned to get up close and personal with a lot of armies. Will they shift the game?

We kick the show off talking about Blood Tithe Points – the BTPs are an interesting mechanic that gives you options.  Do you save for a rainy day or do you burn them as soon as you get them?  You can basically spend them as soon as you get them and they seem to come to you quite plentifully.  Khorne cares not from where the blood flows.  You can almost create your army in a way that funnels BTPs to yourself.

The big stand outs in the Codex are the Eightbound.  They will shine pound for pound more than terminators, I think.  Terminators are still great though!  We might find ourselves in a world where that extra save really matters over the aggressiveness of the Eightbound but I don’t think we’re there yet.

This army doesn’t have any jump packs but it is still FAST.  There are pre-game moves and extra movement bonuses and ways to improve charge rolls and all the good stuff you might expect from an army that is renowned for doing one thing well – getting into combat.

It feels ‘nice’  in a way that makes sense but not overly pushed or forced into the codex. You can look at the models, look at the lore and just kinda smile and nod – that’s a hallmark of good design.

FTN mostly focuses on Warhammer 40k. But you will see that in the first few episodes, we take a severe deep dive into nerdom. These have been a blast to record, and I hope they help pass the time for you. Alternatively, you can subscribe via your own iTunes, and it should update our podcast when we post a new one.
