The Lizards are back in a big way, and I’m hoping the new Searaphon Batletome brought a few new tricks for them on their temple ships.

The new Seraphon battletome is on the horizon, and it’s coming in an army box jam-packed with new goodies. The box gives you access to the new Saurus, Skink Riders, and perhaps the most exciting piece, the snazzy new Slann Priest. These models are gorgeous, and the box is easily worth the price just for the fantastic new sculpts you’ll get. However, sculpts mean nothing without powerful rules to back them up, and I’m hoping that won’t be absent either. The Seraphon have always been a strong army, but there are a few things I’d really love to see in their new book. Let’s hope the Old Ones got my letter.

Kroxigor Battleline

Kroxigors have always been some of my favorite models in the Seraphon range. I loved the idea of these massive and deadly warriors being the bodyguards of their little Skink friends. The crocodilian warriors became all the more lethal for being near their diminutive counterparts. One of my favorite old-school heroes was Nakai, and I loved the lore that he had ascended beyond the limits of regular Lizardmen and became an avatar of the jungle’s rage. Almost every army in AoS can field their “big guys” as conditional battleline now, and I want the same treatment for Kroxigors. Whether they get their own hero or not, I want a way to bring a full force of the brutes to the battlefield, representing the symbolic return of the ancient Wanderer. Of course, that isn’t the only old-school hero I want back…

The (Symbolic) Return of Tehenhauin

When most modern players think of Skinks, they think of quick skirmishers without much power. If you’re going by current Seraphon rules, that isn’t an unfair assessment. However, back in the day, there was a brand of Skinks that could go toe-to-toe with the best brawlers in the league. These Red-Crested Skinks were led by the greatest of their number, the prophet Tehenhauin. This deadly warrior was the oracle of Sotek, and he cut a bloody swathe through all who dared invade his jungle home. I want the return of the warrior Skinks in this new book and maybe an artifact option to build a Tehen-adjacent hero. An army of Skinks could be deadly with the right leader, and I hope they get that.

The Dread Saurian

This one is unlikely, but that doesn’t stop me wishlisting it. The Dread Saurian is a deadly addition to the dino warriors of the Seraphon, and having a more cost and point-efficient option for a giant monster would be fantastic. You could even make a Kragnos or Krondys-style big guy, where only one can be included in the army. I want my Jurassic terror back from the depths of Forge World to devour the enemies of the Old Ones.
