Count Dooku

“Count Dooku is a tactical and considered combatant who can punish those who move on him recklessly. He boasts a wealth of reactive options, especially when his MagnaGuard are close by. And though known more as a finesse lightsaber duelist, he is quite deadly at range, able to inflict tremendous damage drawing on the dark side of the Force to unleash force lightning.”

Packing an interesting kit, Count Dooku looks like an interesting threat on the battlefield. Able to damage targets at range with Force Lightning he’s also quite punishing up close, too. He seems a bit defensive and reactive with Surely You Can Do Better and Twice The Pride, Double The Fall — both of which can really mess with attackers against him. When you combine those with his mastery of the Form II Makashi Count Dooku can really catch an opponent in a vulnerable spot.

Alternatively, his Force Mastery Stance leans more into the Force Lightning and longer distance action. Still, he’s no slouch in melee but this is certainly the option to choose if you’re looking to stay back a bit and force the enemy to ride the lightning!

MagnaGuard

“These MagnaGuard droids have been programmed with Protection Protocols that allow them to remain near Separatist Alliance Primary Units as they move around the battlefield, allowing them to intercept any foes who may be closing in on a high priority target such as Count Dooku. Each MagnaGuard is a proven Bodyguard, allowing them to provide some cover for nearby allies. Beyond this, possibly their most useful defensive quality is their ability to Intercede, which makes it impossible for foes engaged by a MagnaGuard to target allied primary or secondary characters with attacks. “

Able to cover Dooku, the MagnaGuard really exist to interfere with the enemy’s plans. Intercede is just great at preventing the enemy from attacking other targets and will force a showdown. And with their Defensive Programs removing them is no small feat.

Combined, these take make a deadly and defensive One-Two punch. They seem to present the enemy with a pair of bad options and say, “okay, choose your poison.” You can’t really ignore either of them and they will play the objective game as well as anyone else we’ve seen thanks to their built-in tankiness.

Your first crack at Count Dooku will be with the Twice The Pride Squad pack coming soon from Atomic Mass Games.
