The Cities of Sigmar are getting a new scouting unit in the form of the Wildercorps Hunters. Meet the humans and hounds scouting ahead!

With the re-launch of the Cities of Sigmar range a ton of new and exciting units are coming. Today we’re getting a look at the new Wildercorps Hunters. This unit combines humans and hounds to scout the lands and track the enemy — or other problems that might need addressing.

via Warhammer Community

The Wildercorps Hunters are expert trackers, with an intimate knowledge of the rougher parts of the Mortal Realms. Often recruited from the Reclaimed – those peoples who survived for generations under the cruel lash of Chaos, while Azyr’s doors were closed – they’ve endured sickness, hunger, and inclement weather to hone their skills to a keen knife’s edge.

This new unit is designed as scouting and recon unit. As such they do get some in game special rules to account for their scouting and tracking skills.

That’s right as long as they are getting the benefit of cover they also get +1 to their rend characteristic for their missile weapons. That can make for some surprisingly effective fire! And while they are in cover OR more than 12″ away from the enemy they are not visible. That basically means they can’t be shot at or targeted by things that require line of sight.

Another fun fact about this new unit is that it’s also coming to Warcry as a new Warband! So even if you’re not planning on starting a Cities of Sigmar army you can recruit them into your collection as a Warband for Warcry and paint up those Trailhounds. They might look like bad-tempered dogs but they are loyal and now I want to pet them.

The Cities of Sigmar’s new look and army is coming soon. Get ready to scout and settle the Mortal Realms once again!
