The Battle for Oghram has ended and the results are in. But who won? Games Workshop isn’t saying who the victor is just yet.

So this is a little bit of a strange one. The Battle for Oghram is over as the deadline to send in your results has passed. Unfortunately we still don’t have a winner. Why? Because Games Workshop is holding that info close to the chest until this weekend.

The final results will be revealed on Saturday the 15th of July during a special preview for all of the new miniatures from the side who won.

Battle For Oghram Final Results?

So here’s the thing: we got two “check-ins” from Games Workshop during the event. The first one had the Space Marines with a slim lead of 51% vs 49% of the results. The follow-up had a relatively big swing of the Tyranids in the lead.

This was the last update we got and it was 3 days before the end of the event with over 25,000 results in. So unless a flood of Space Marine results came in it’s looking like the Tyranids might have devoured the planet. And considering you needed to use the one use code from a Leviathan box to report those results it’s not looking great for the Space Marines.

If the Tyranids do end up winning I’m going to be a little shocked. Mostly because I had the Space Marines to win this round due to the imbalance with the miniatures in the box. Based purely on the points the Space Marines should have an advantage. However, that’s only if you played based on all the miniatures within the boxed set. If you took our advice and (somehow) managed to add in some extra units off Barbgaunts and Termagants you’d have a closer match-up.

Or if you went with the Combat Patrol game option that would have helped even things out (at least in points). Also, I’d be curious to see which mission folks played as well. Did they use the mission cards in the box or did they just use the “default” mission from the Core Rule book. There was a surprising number of variables to work with based on the contents in the Leviathan box. So not everyone was reporting the same game — and honestly that’s okay! This was supposed to be a big, global campaign representing the battle over an entire world.

Whatever the case we’ll find out the winners on the 15th of July. And with that we should also get some previews of the winning army! I’m looking forward to seeing some new Tyranids to my existing army.

Did the Space Marines come from behind or did the Tyranids devour the defenders?
