There’s two new boxed sets coming for the Dawnbringers. It’s time for Ionus and Belthanos to get a pricing breakdown!

This weekend Games Workshop has two great looking characters going up for pre-order from Games Workshop for AoS. We’ve know what’s in each box and we’ve got an idea of the price points. Let’s dig into each one to figure out what sort of deal we’re getting for them.

Cryptborn’s Stormwing

Ionus Cryptborn – ???

Stormdrake Guards – $125

Boxed Price – $155

Total Savings – ???

Okay, this one is weird because it’s really just three models for $155. However, the Stormdrake Guards are $125 for 2 of them and the box is reported in at $155. Looking at Ionus Cryptborn I’d have to say that’s he’s going to cost more that $30 when he gets a solo boxed set.

Ionus Cryptborn estimated price – way more than $30…

If I had to guess, I’d say at minimum $60 — and based on the some of the other Stormcast Eternal Characters, probably closer to $100, if not more. The point is I’m not sure how much of a deal this box will end up being, but if you want Stormdrake Guards and a sweet new character, this one is going to be a deal.

The Blades of Belthanos

Belthanos  – ???

Kurnoth Hunters – $60

Spiterider Lancers – $65

Boxed Price – $150

Belthanos is on a bigger base than a Treelord Ancient and those clock in at $75. The two other kits in the box have a MSRP value of $125. So, again, is Belthanos going to be worth more or less than $25? My guess is a more. A lot more.

Belthanos, more or less than the cost of a Treelord Ancient?

Even on the conservative side of pricing Belthanos the same as a Treelord, this is still a good deal. It’s on par with the value of the Sylvaneth Vanguard box. So yeah, I think this is a safe bet to place with this boxed set being another good deal.

So this wasn’t our most accurate pricing breakdown but both of these boxes are kinda weird. They will end up being good deals for either option. That said, you probably don’t really need to get more than one as both of these characters are unique and the value of the box is basically lost if you can’t run more than one of the characters in an army. At that point you’re better off buying the other units individually. These are good deals but are “one and done” boxes.

That is a BIG beetle. Not Alarielle big. But bigger than a Treelord big.
