Character sheets for Astarion, Gale, Karlach, Lae’zel, Shadowheart, and Wyll are now yours, for free, on D&D Beyond.

Baldur’s Gate 3, naturally, comes with character sheets for all the, y’know, characters in it. And though you can go in and tweak them, transforming Astarion from lovable twink Rogue into, say, lovable twink Bard or Warlock, or changing Karlach from a Barbarian to a Fighter, or making Gale be a Cleric, these characters, for the most part, are assumed to be all of a certain class.

Their first levels are canon, as they say. And now, they’re playable as pre-generated characters in your games of D&D. Because six character sheets from Baldur’s Gate 3 have been made available for free on D&D Beyond.

Of course, many of you are thinking, “well yeah, but the entire party’s character sheets are available for free if you already have the game.” And this is true. If you have Baldur’s Gate 3, you absolutely do not need to go out and make a D&D Beyond account. You can just drop anyone’s stats, skills, and abilities into your favorite character sheet and be ready to roll.

But if you’ve been watching the game through a ‘Let’s Play’ or via one of your favorite streamers, here’s a chance to drop them into your own game, no extra work required.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Characters On D&D Beyond

Of course, it’s hard to get super excited about any new D&D development in the wake of the pre-holiday layoffs at WotC and throughout Hasbro, a conscious decision by its CEO, Chris Cocks, to get rid of the people who helped make sure the goose could lay the golden egg that was Baldur’s Gate 3 in the first place. This might sound like hyperbole, but as we learned last week from Larian CEO Swen Vincke, “of the people who were in the original meeting room, there’s almost nobody left.”

That said, you literally have to do nothing to access these characters if you already have a D&D Beyond account. After the 11 basic pre-generated characters, which include the Human Fighter and surprisingly unarmored Dragonborn Paladin, you’ll find the Baldur’s Gate 3 crew listed.

Though weirdly enough, in the pre-generated preview, they aren’t identified by name. Astarion is merely listed as “Elf Rogue” next to Gale the “Human Wizard” and so on. But if you’ve played the game, you know exactly who they are already.

All that’s left now is to figure out if now’s the time to add “romanceable PCs” to the mix.
