A man on a rescue mission must navigate a destroyed Seoul that’s been overrun by criminals and the undead in Badland Hunters.

Netflix has added a ton of fantastic Korean shows and movies ranging from horror and fantasy to crime dramas and romance. The partnership with Korean studios has produced projects like Squid Game, JUNG_E, All of Us Are Dead, Hellbound, and Sweet Home. The newest movie takes us to a Seoul that’s been shattered by a natural disaster.

In Badland Hunters, a massive earthquake has turned Seoul into a lawless land filled with untold dangers. One of a handful of survivors, Nam-san is a “relentless wasteland hunter.” He is tasked with tracking down and rescuing a teenager who’s been abducted by a villainous doctor. The hunter won’t be just dealing with the fallout from the earthquake – there are hordes of zombies roaming the badlands.

It looks perfect for fans of Train to Boson,

The new trailer shows the devastation and violent world the disaster has left in its wake. And the depraved people – undead and alive – Nam-san is up against.

Badland Hunters Cast & Details

The movie is an almost sequel to Um Tae-hwa’s Concrete Utopia, which is about a group of people trapped in an apartment building after the same earthquake. It’s the Korean Film Council’s official entry for the 96th Academy Awards – the ceremony will be held on March 10th.

Badland Hunters is written and directed by long-time stunt coordinator Heo Myeong-hang (The Good the Bad the Weird, Oldboy). The cast is led by Ma Dong-Seok (popularly known as Don Lee). He is joined by Lee Hee-Jun, Lee Jun-Young, Roh Jeong-Eui, and An Ji-Hye.

After a deadly earthquake turns Seoul into a lawless badland, a fearless huntsman springs into action to rescue a teenager abducted by a mad doctor.

Badland Hunters debuts on Netflix on Friday, January 26.
