There’s more Kroot on the horizon for the T’au Army. Meet the Lone-spears who ride atop Kalamadras into battle.

We’re excited to see more Kroot on the way from Games Workshop. Today we’re getting a look at another brand new unit that’s designed to hunt armored prey. Not to mention they are fast enough to keep up with those Kroot Hounds, too. Say hello to the Kroot Lone-spears.

via Warhammer Community

“Lone-spears ride strange chameleonic creatures called Kalamandras, whose ability to alter their skin colour and move through tough terrain unhindered makes them the perfect mount for expert hunters. Their speed and strength let them keep up with packs of Kroot Hounds, guiding them to fight more effectively and capture far-flung objectives.”

Kroot Lone-spears

Lone-spears come in two different varieties. This first one above packs a punch with an explosive-tipped javelin. This warhead is powerful enough to threaten armored targets deep in the enemy’s lines. It might require some luck to pull off, but the speed of the Kalamandras helps get them into position.

The other option for the Lone-spears is a more sniper/scout role. This version wields a long gun that puts accurate fire with heavy rounds down range. It’s also got the [Precision] rule so you can pick off high priority targets a little easier.

And speaking of that “scout” role, both versions are great guides for the rest of the army.

“Whatever they use to fight, their shots also serve as guiding beacons to their fellow Kroot, marking priority targets for destruction and guiding attacks to their prey – whether at range or in close combat.”

Who needs marker lights for Kroot when you’ve got the Lone-spears running around giving you re-rolls for both ranged AND melee hit roles?! These Lone-spears will be a great addition to a Kroot army. They will be joining the ranks on the second wave of releases. But that should give you plenty of time to get the first wave painted up and ready to go!

First come the Hunting Pack, then comes the next wave…

This model also answers quite a few Rumor Engines…
