The special and the new season also see the return of a familiar name. Russell T Davies is back at the helm after a nearly 14-year absence, and he’s excited for audiences to experience what’s next for the pair.

“At last, it’s my great delight to unleash a whole new season of the Doctor and Ruby’s adventures together. Monsters! Chases! Villains! Mysteries! And a terrifying secret that’s been spanning time and space for decades. Don’t miss a second!”

Doctor Who Season 14 Cast & Details

Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson lead the cast. Also included are Aneurin Barnard, Jemma Redgrave, Anita Dobson, Michelle Greenidge, Jonathan Groff, Indira Varma, Bonnie Langford, Lenny Rush, Alexander Devrient, and Yasmin Finney. Russell T. Davies is the showrunner, executive producer, and writer for the new season. Kate Herron, Briony Redman, and Steven Moffet are also writing episodes.

The upcoming season of “Doctor Who” follows the Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday as they travel across time and space, with adventures all the way from the Regency era in England, to war-torn future worlds. Throughout their adventures in the TARDIS – a time-traveling ship shaped like a police box – they encounter incredible friends and dangerous foes, including a terrifying bogeyman, and the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet.

The first two episodes will drop at the same time.

Doctor Who S14 begins streaming Friday, May 10, at 7 p.m. ET on Disney+. Episodes will drop in the UK at midnight on May 11 on BBC iPlayer.
