Age of Sigmar: Scourge of Ghyran Lumineth Realm-lords Rule Previews

It’s time to shed some light on what the Lumenith Realm-lords will be doing in Ghyran with these rule updates.
The Lumineth Realm-lords are heading to the Realm of Life and they’ve got some new toys to play with. This Scourge of Ghyran rule update brings with it three new heroic traits, three new spells, and two alternate warscrolls to use.
“Welcome, people of the realms, to a land of wonder, enchantment and illumination. Open your mind and you will learn much here today about the Lumineth Realm-lords and their season of war update.”
Scourge of Ghyran Lumineth Realm-lord Heroic Traits
First up we have Flawless Commander as a heroic trait. It adds 2″ to the move of friendly LRL Infantry units while they are wholly within 12″ of this character. That’s a nice movement boost for sure.
Martial perfectionist is up next and it can happen in any combat phase. This one grants +1 to wound rolls for friendly LRL Infantry against the target. Now, you do need to manage to roll a 3+ for this ability to trigger. Also you need to target an enemy unit with 12″ that has taken damage or has had any models slain.
Finally, we have Aetherquartz Requisitioner. This one is a flat 3+ bonus to a casting roll but it’s once per battle. It’s simple but effective. Sometimes you really need to cast a spell!
Scourge of Ghyran Lumineth Realm-lord Spell Lore
“All of the spells in this lore are unlimited, meaning you can cast each of them multiple times with different wizards. In fact, Beam of Hysh inflicts more damage the more it is cast, while Unseen Force first stops an enemy unit running, then subtracts 1 from their hits rolls if cast on them a second time. With Beacons of Protection, units wholly within 9” any Lumineth wizard can ignore the first point of damage inflicted upon them, its range increasing with subsequent casts.”
You can read the text of each spell above. Personally, I really like Unseen Force. If you can manage to cast it on an enemy unit it can’t run. But if you can cast it twice on them, they get -1 to hit rolls, too! I could see this one being very useful to blunt an enemy’s main unit from getting into or out of combat.
Scourge of Ghyran Lumineth Realm-lord Warscrolls
For the Warscrolls we’ve got two to talk about. First is an alternate Light of Eltharion. This version can now return to the battlefield if destroyed. That’s already pretty mean!
The other alternate warscroll if for the Vanari Bannerblade. This one really boosts fellow Aurlan Wardens when it comes to holding objectives. That’s thanks to it’s Defend the Banner ability. An extra +1 to save rolls is just plain good.
As always, these are alternate options for their respective units. You can’t mix-and-match these versions with the other versions in your army.
Will the Light of the Lumineth Realm-lords help to defend Ghyran or will these rules fade out quickly?
