Malifaux Unboxing: Witchling Stalkers

2 Minute Read
Mar 5 2014
Witchling Stalkers: illegal mages hunted down by Sonnia Criid’s task force, who have had their minds burnt out of them and now exist solely to destroy other mages. Cool!

Originally available as part of the Torch and the Flame box set (AKA the Sonnia crew), the Stalkers are now available separately in packs of 3. Every set includes a single sprue of 3 Stalkers and the appropriate stat cards for mark 2.

The sprue for these guys (the same one included in the Torch and the Flame) really surprised me. Whereas all the other plastic models produced by Wyrd currently are broken up into a fair number of pieces, each Stalker included is a single continuous piece, no real assembly needed. While the miniatures themselves still maintain Wyrd’s high quality, the poses feel a bit two dimensional due to this.

The single piece molds were probably used due to the fact that the Stalkers were used as a pre-mark 2 promotion, being given away with a gaming magazine. Thus, they probably went simple for production and packaging concerns.

Guild players will want to pick up a box of these guys. They’re historically one of the Guild’s best low to mid cost options, and Sonnia players might even want some to supplement the ones from the box set, as she has an ability to summon them off of killed models, and against a swarm you could end up with a decent set of them on the table.

Nice!  Look for more Malifaux stuff coming soon.
