Geekery: Mark Hamill is Chucky in Tech Filled ‘Child’s Play’ Reboot

The producers behind the IT reboot are tackling another 80s horror classic – it’s time to play, this time with wifi enabled. In this take Andy Barclay is a shy boy who is having trouble fitting in to a new city, so his mom buys a seemingly innocent Buddi doll as a companion. The doll will introduce Andy to new kids in his neighborhood, but the circumstances are filled with bloody havoc and terror rather than fun and games.

The cast includes Aubrey Plaza, Gabriel Bateman, Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio, and Brian Tyree Henry. The movie is directed by Lars Klevberg (Polaroid, The Wall) with a script by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury).

Child’s Play hits the big screen on June 21.
