Warhammer: What We Hope To See At The AdeptiCon Preview
Games Workshop has a big online preview coming at AdeptiCon 2022. Here’s a few things we’re hoping to see!
The AdeptiCon kick off is only a few days away and we’re excited to see what GW has in store for the Warhammer Preview Online. While we don’t know exactly what is coming we at least have some broad categories to see. Here’s what we’re hoping to spot at the show:
Warhammer 40,000
Obviously we’re expecting to see some Tyranid News. Imperial Knights have also been teased as well. Which checks out. Remember back at the LVO we saw some other teasers:
We’re now wondering if maybe it’s not just Imperial Knights. Perhaps some Renegade Knights might crash the party. What we’re expecting to see are some new models coming to the game. However, if we’re being completely honest, what we’d LIKE to see is some news on the Chaos Space Marine front.
Age of Sigmar
Arena of Shades was teased back at LVO. We’re hoping to see some more news about this box’s armies — specifically, we want to know the actual release dates of the Nighthaunt and Daughters of Khaine Battletomes.
AoS 3.0 hit last summer. It’s been almost 9 months and we’ve only gotten 4 battletomes. Sure, we’ve seen some stop-gap AoS army updates in White Dwarf, but I think folks the AoS folks would really like to see a faster pace of books. Or at least some more news beyond the teased roadmap.
Beyond that, we do know that AoS is getting a Chaos Battletome and an Order battletome. We might get a teaser of their battle box combo, provided the cycle repeats again.
Necromunda – Ash Wastes
We are excited about this release. We’re hoping GW does show off more news around it and those cool looking new Nomads.
We might even get a reveal of the full set — we think that another model has also been teased already:
There are 3 more books planned as well as some more products beyond the Ash Wastes. Personally, I’m hoping for some vehicle combat rules so we can go full Mad Max beyond the walls of the Hive Spire!
Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
There’s been rumors for long time now that Horus Heresy is due for an update. It’s unclear what that actually means though. Are we going to see a new boxed set release? A core rules update? Perhaps a move from the current Horus Heresy ruleset to the more modern 40k rules? That would be a pretty big shift! Black Library is hurdling towards the Siege of Terra. Could we see more rules to reflect that? A new expansion of some type?
Warhammer Underworlds
It’s getting close to time to reveal those new Warbands and Core Set. We’re hoping to see those at AdeptiCon along with another roadmap for Underworlds. The game is getting quite large at this point, too. We’re wondering what GW’s plan is moving forward.
Blood Bowl
It’s always fun to see what GW has planned for Blood Bowl. We don’t have crazy hopes for the game in terms of major announcements. But we love to see all the crazy new models! We’re expecting a handful of those to show up and maybe a new team.
