Age of Sigmar: 5 Armies We Want Faction Terrain For

Realistically, we’d like to see each army get a cool piece of faction terrain. But these 5 are our highest priority.

In Age of Sigmar, some armies have their own, cool piece of Faction Terrain. Typically, they have special rules in game and are worth bringing along. Even if you just use them on your display board, they are cool to have! However, there are other armies that don’t have their own and that’s a real shame. Here’s the 5 armies that need a kit ASAP!

Soulblight Gravelords

How do these guys NOT have a Faction Terrain Kit? I mean, yeah, GW has made Graveyards and kits like that in the past…So why don’t the Soulblight Gravelords have a special mausoleum kit that gives them a boost? Doesn’t the army have special Gravemarker rules?! In fact, this army has the rules and NOT an official kit. Seems kinda backwards to us.

Not saying it needs to be THAT big…but c’mon.

Orruk Warclans

We got the Kruleboyz and the Ironjaws here. You know what would be perfect for them? Effigies of Gork (or Mork) depending on the Clan. I know in the past the Orcs have had rules for them but I can’t remember “official” models beyond a block of foam that was carved to look like an Orc face. In the Mortal Realms, I think GW could do a lot better. Especially with the new plastic kits they have been putting out.

Daughters of Khaine

Sure, the DoK have their Cauldrons and Shrines — but those things are mobile! We’re talking about a specific piece of Faction TERRAIN here. You know what I would want to see? A Gladiatorial pit. “Oh but that would have a big footprint on the battlefield!” …And? have you seen the Bone-tithe Nexus or Awakened Wyldwoods? Something with a 6 to 8 inch diameter that gave bonuses to units inside or around isn’t exactly game-shattering. Those already exist. And how epic would it be to have two characters fight it out in the Gladiatorial pit!?

Disciples of Tzeentch

This one’s easy. A Silver Tower of Tzeentch. OR if you think that would be too tall then let’s call them “Silver Shards of Tzeentch” — maybe a tower blew up and sent these Silver Shards all over the Mortal Realms and now they give Tzeentch followers a reason to congregate. And maybe they move in between battles; it’s all about the changes right? Look, I dunno. I’ll leave that to the Lore-guys at GW. But the Silver Towers/Shards of Tzeentch need to be a faction terrain kit for them already!

Slaves To Darkness

Uh…Varanspire much? Okay maybe that’s too obvious. But still, 40k Chaos got the Noctilith Crown. Could we not get something similiar for the Mortal Realms?

Like this, but maybe less 40k and more AoS?

Or heck, maybe just use the same kit and change the rules. I dunno it’s all Chaos, right!? I’ll leave that up to the folks at GW but I just think that the Slave to Darkness should get a faction terrain kit!

Bonus: No Stormcast Eternals Kits

I don’t think that the Stormcast Eternals should get a faction terrain kit. Why? Because (with the exception of Warcry Terrain) every other kit is Sigmar related. And sometimes those even have rules! Basically the Stormcast Eternals already got the “generic” setting terrain kits — just like the Imperium does for 40k. They don’t need their own faction specific terrain kit.
