We’re Sailing Away With This ‘One Piece Red’ Uta Cosplay
In One Piece Red we got to know Shanks’ daughter, Uta. And this cosplay lets her jump right off of the concert stage and into real life.
One Piece Red was one of last year’s biggest and most anticipated anime movies. It was one of the few movies that I managed to get to the theater to watch last year. You can read my full review here, but suffice it to say, it was a movie I liked quite a bit. One Piece Red also gives us a chance to really get to know Uta. Daughter of Red Haired Shanks and childhood friend of Luffy, she only appears in the show as a little kid for a handful of flashback episodes.
Uta is introduced as a world-famous singer whose voice has the power to bring world piece. But the crew quickly finds out that there’s a little more going on than they anticipated. Still, Uta’s songs are catchy and fun, her full backstory is compelling enough to keep us interested the whole time, and of course, her look is really really cosplay-ably cute.
Cosplayer Kurochuu brings Uta to life with cosplay photos that not only perfectly portray the character, but thoughtful photo work and background editing that makes it look like we’re actually at one of Uta’s concerts. The character is a little bigger and shinier than life, and so is Kurochuu’s work in the best way possible.
