Jedi Master Plo Koon and Padawan Ashoka Tano are coming to Star Wars: Shatterpoint. Time to find out what they are bringing to the tabletop!

The upcoming Lead by Example Squad Pack is coming to Star Wars: Shatterpoint very soon. We’ve already got a look at the Clone Troopers in the box and now we’re getting a closer look at the Jedi Master and a Padawan in the box. Meet Plo Koon and Ahsoka Tano!

Jedi Master Plo Koon

“Plo Koon served on the ill-fated last Jedi High Council before its tragic fall to Order 66 in the final years of the Galactic Republic. He was counted among its most thoughtful and respected members, proving himself an able general in dozens of battles. Master Plo Koon was noted for his protectiveness of the clone troopers under his command, and he was witness to considerable tragedy during the Clone Wars, including the death of many of his Jedi peers during the Battles of Geonosis. Throughout his time with them, Plo Koon served the Order well, with one of his noteworthy accomplishments being bringing in a number of Force-sensitive youths as recruits. This included the discovery and recovery of a promising Togruta, Ahsoka Tano. While she was never his padawan, apprenticed instead to Anakin Skywalker, a strong bond was forged between the two. Plo Koon and Ahsoka had occasion to fight together on multiple occasions, including a mission to rescue Master Mace Windu and Anakin after a botched assassination attempt on them by bounty hunters.”

Jedi Master Plo Koon is not just strong in the Force but also wise and understands the value of teamwork. His first ability is a movement boost that can provide some extra Dash options to a unit. Plus, if the unit is a Trooper or Padawan unit, he also gets to Dash to keep up with them. He also has Force Push and Deflect which are both classic powers of the Jedi. Furthermore, his final ability allows for some extra defense for his allies. By gaining Exposed, his allies can use his own Defense Expertise Chart instead of their own. And he also gets to Dash toward the attacker as well.

With all that dashing around you’d think Plo Koon would be ready to make use of some good melee attacks — and you’d be right! Depending on the situation, Plo Koon can get quite defensive with Form III Soresu or get more aggressive with Form V Djem So. Neither form is a bad choice, but they each offer different benefits so choose wisely.

Padawan Ahsoka Tano

“Alongside the Jedi Master we present Ahsoka Tano in her years as a padawan. She retained a strong bond with Plo Koon even after being assigned to follow the teachings of Anakin Skywalker. They fought well together and throughout her life, Ahsoka looked on him fondly as a mentor.”

As a Jedi-in-Training Padawan Ahsoka Tano still has a lot to learn. That said, she’s got some great skills for a Secondary Unit choice. Her Tactics Ability Race Ya allows for a free Dash for another unit — so they can keep up with her. She is Fearless allows her to jump twice instead of just once which can provide her with both distance and height. She’s also well versed in Deflecting enemy fire thanks to her training. And finally she’s got Getting Ahead of Yourself Again, Snips which allows her to jump in and engage the enemy and swing with a 5 die melee attack.

Padawan Ahsoka Tano also uses the Jar’Kai stance which is rather potent in the melee department. This stance takes advantage of her dual wielding and offers up a 7 die attack! Take note of all that extra movement in her attack tree, too as she’s quite the mobile combatant.
