Naruto is one of the longest running, endearing anime series I remember from childhood. Through thick and thin, growing up and joining the fight, these characters are close to the hearts of more than one generation. This week we’re featuring a quiet warrior with a heart of gold- and showing you how to build your own version of her look!
Hinata Hyūga is one of the core characters of Naruto. She’s quiet and unassuming, isn’t power hungry, but IS loyal to a fault. She falls in love with Naruto early on, but pines quietly for many years before our oblivious hero returns her affections. She’s known for her beautiful purple color palette in her wardrobe, though her look evolves over time as she grows. Hinata Closet Cosplay: The Entire Cosplay
As always, the interwebs are a marvelous place for quick and easy cosplays. If you want something thrown together with minimal thinking, here’s a great option. Order her up and throw her on, and you’re ready to party!
Hinata Closet Cosplay: The Jacket
If you want to start from scratch or raid your closet instead for this look, it’s easy enough to start with a purple hoodie of some sort. Hinata’s is two-toned, including the white sleeves. You can either take those off and replace them, wear a white shirt under them, or just rock the purple! It’s closet cosplay, you do YOU!
Hinata Closet Cosplay: The Pants
The next step in the look is a cargo pant, or a sweatpant, in a deep royal purple. I like something functional that has pockets (who doesn’t love pockets!) but you can go with just about anything, even a fitted legging. The most important thing is moveability- you gotta strike those poses!

Hinata has many different types of shoes in the series, but we’re loving these cute, strappy sandals. The bands are thick enough to support some high-kicking, and cute enough to wear to the beach as well!
Hinata Closet Cosplay: The Forehead Protector
Last but not least, no Naruto-inspired cosplay can be complete without the forehead protector! You can make your own from a bandanna, and add in something hand-drawn or sewn to attach the symbol. But there’s one ready-to-wear online as well, and not too bad in the pricing department!
