Games Workshop is prepping for a new Edition of Warhammer 40,000 – but where did the new Gargants for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar run off to?

It feels like a LONG time ago when GW was hyping up the arrival of the new Sons of Behemat. They were poised to land on the tabletops of AoS with some thunderous stomps as they look like some of the biggest kits out there. Also considering the fact that GW said they would be able to join any army/faction players were both excited and worried – Are these going to be the Imperial Knights of AoS? Personally, I don’t think so – but I already covered that.

Anyhow, we haven’t heard a peep about these big guys in a few months. It’s understandable as we are living in a pretty weird world-wide pandemic and that has obviously mucked-up …pretty much everything. But we’re also on the cusp of a new edition for Warhammer 40,000 and GW really seems to be focusing in on that. It’s just odd that it seemed like the Sons of Behemat were right around the corner – until they weren’t. Remember that whole thing from the Port Authority?

There maybe a warehouse somewhere just sitting on all the new books and warscroll cards. But where are the miniatures? Perhaps those got delayed. It’s not like GW had anything major to print hundreds of copies of…oh wait.

“Ramping up for a second run! Sort of.”

It’s clear that GW still has plans for the Sons to come out after the 9th edition launch – Indomitus kicks off officially this weekend anyhow so of course the Sons of Behemat will be out after that. We just don’t know how long we’ll have to wait. And that’s the sucky part.

And it’s not just the Sons who got pushed to the backlog it seems. Don’t forget that the Lumineth Realm Lords are basically on a holding pattern, too.

“Don’t you forget about us..Look at at the Light!”

Right now, it does feel like 40k is dominating the release schedule from GW. And that may be true in terms of kits and products but AoS did just get both the new General’s Handbook 2020 and a new batch of FAQs. I’m just as exciting to get my hands on these new Gargants as the next AoS Player but it sure seems like it’s going to be at least another couple weeks until the giants come to play.

Next week is Titanicus. But the week after? Guess we’ll wait and see.
