She-Ra is a classic cartoon from the 80’s that had a recent resurgence thanks to the Netflix reboot. This cosplay has us feeling nostalgic.

You gotta love a fierce warrior woman. From Wonder Woman to Athena and Xena to Black Widow, a strong dynamic female lead is an amazing thing to enjoy. Netflix’s reboot of the classic series brought She-Ra back to our consciousness with She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. And of course, the cosplay community went wild with the modern redesigns. But sometimes you want to revisit a classic. And based on the Sideshow Collectibles She-Ra figure and original 80’s costume design, that’s just what cosplayer Sami Bess‘s rendition of She-Ra is! for the honor of Grayskull!

“I’m not just crying for Hordak, I’m crying for the saddest thing I know: a wasted life. To be given that most precious gift, the gift of living, to do with as we choose. I’m crying, because this man has chosen to throw it away. And when he goes, nobody will care.” -She-Ra

She-Ra, also known as Adora is a hero in the Masters of the Universe franchise. Though, the recent Netflix reboot doesn’t seem to have much relation to He-Man at all. In both versions, She-Ra is a sword-wielding heroine with super strength and a collection of also super-powered friends. And of course, both versions feature her instantly recognizable white and gold armor.

“My whole life has changed because of this sword.”

“Next, I’ll make sure those dungeons will never be used as prisons again.”
