Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Five More Characters We Want To Join The Game

Marvel: Crisis Protocol has a lot of characters already but there’s plenty more to pull from the comics! Here’s a few we’d love to see.

At the tail end of July, I put out a list of five characters I’d like to see in Marvel: Crisis Protocol. It was a trick. There was actually way more than five on that list. Regardless, there were some heavy hitters on that list and now I want to go back and add a few more personal and fan favorites.

Onslaught

So with Professor X coming soon(ish) to MCP why not bring in his most Over Powered form? Okay, it’s not really Professor X as Onslaught is a sentient psychic entity formed from the negative emotions Charlies Xavier’s been harbouring along with Magneto’s “anger, grief, and lust for vengeance.” If you’re a little confused by that, yeah…I don’t blame you. Welcome to comics. Just know that Onslaught is a mix of Professor X and Magneto and his powers are ever crazier.

If Onslaught did make it to the tabletop he’d probably be an event-level character like Thanos. It would be pretty awesome to have to team-up to take this one down!

Nova (Richard Rider)

Nova has been a long running character at Marvel. This iteration is Richard Rider who’s a member of the Nova Corps. I’m not going to get into all the details here, but in a lot of ways the Nova Corps are basically the Marvel version of the Green Lanterns — they are “Space Cops” but a whole lot more. The Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced their version of the Nova Corps but they are vastly different than the comic book version.

Anyhow, Richard Rider has been a part of many teams in Marvel over the years. From the New Warriors, to the Defenders, to even the Guardians of the Galaxy. There’s also different versions of this character floating around, too. In recent memory his most important arc was around the Annihilation storyline. Which is why he’d be a perfect pairing with our next character…

Annihilus

Annihilus is a long time antagonist of the Fantastic Four. And if you read the previous list, you know that’s just one more reason why he’d be awesome to add. Essentially, he’s the ruler of the Negative Zone. That puts him at odds with basically the rest of the “regular” Marvel Universe already. Anyhow, his biggest outing has to be the Annihilation event. If you’d like to learn more about this character check out this video by Comics Explained. It goes into a whole lot more detail:

Kang The Conqueror

At this point, I don’t think Kang needs that much of an introduction. Although I do feel like once you add time travel to the mix things start to go off the rails quickly. That said Kang the Conqueror, aka Nathaniel Richards from the 31st Century, is a truly classic villain in the Marvel Universe. He’s fought the Fantastic Four (as Pharaoh Rama-Tut) and also the Avengers on countless occasions. He’s also battled with the likes of Apocalypse and others in his origins. If ever there was a character that will make you say, “well, because COMICS” it might be Kang. That said, I’d love to see him on the tabletop in MCP!

Master Mold

Okay, here me out. If Marvel: Crisis Protocol ever started making huge kits (like Galactus) then I’d want to see Master Mold get in on that action. In the comics he’s created by Bolivar Trask (which is another character I’d like to see). Master Mold is the super computer that takes the shape of a giant Sentinel robot. He controls and facilitates the construction of other Sentinels. Without getting into ALL the details, he goes a little rogue and in a lot of ways goes full Skynet. This leads to the famous Day of Future Past storyline which still has repercussions on the Marvel Universe to this day.

Plus we had that Nimrod tease and eventually those two combine into Bastion…which is a whole OTHER story…
